jfk-pane-rustica-1It was a terrific turnout for WUSF’s “Sneak Preview” party at Pane Rustica in South Tampa on Sunday, May 19th.

More than 90 people showed up to watch a short video preview of our documentary “JFK in Tampa: The 50th Anniversary.”

WUSF Public Media’s General Manager, JoAnn Urofsky welcomed everyone and explained how important projects like this are… to capture, educate and preserve our rich history.

jfk-pane-rustica-2jfk-pane-rustica-3Tampa’s Mayor Bob Buckhorn was there to say a few words to the crowd, as did Tampa attorney Steve Yerrid and Retired Judge E.J. Salcines (who have their own great JFK stories).

I was also given a moment to thank all the many people who have been sharing their stories, photos, collectables and special memories from that day in November 1963.jfk-pane-rustica-4

This project touches my heart (as it does for so many of you).

Response to our eight-minute video “sneak-preview” was a success, inspiring several generous donations.

“JFK in Tampa: The 50th Anniversary” broadcast debut will be on WUSF TV, Sunday night, Nov. 10th at 8:00pm.
